3.9.2014 March is MS Awareness Month!

To start off, what is Multiple Sclerosis? Multiple sclerosis (also known as MS), is a chronic disease that attacks the central nervous system, i.e. the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. With MS the central nervous system (CNS) is attacked by the person’s own immune system.  MS is also known as an auto-immune disease.

 1.27.2014  Five Years…

Whether this is your first email from Team Stanton or one of many from past years…thank you for being part of our effort.  As always, we welcome you on our journey of making a difference. It’s hard to believe we are entering our 5th year participating in Walk MS with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
It seems like just a short time ago when I sat in the doctor’s office with Dave and learned of his diagnosis.  What an unbelievably heart wrenching moment that was…Dave has being doing well this past year. No substantive relapses – which is extremely good news. He is reluctantly continuing with daily injectionsand is looking to make a switch to an oral medication in late spring.  The new treatment was only recently released into the market but has received strong support thus far.  To ask someone who has an inherent fear of needles to endure daily injections for so many years issincerely a test of will.  The introduction of an oral medication and allowing him to continue treatment is truly evidence of the success of our efforts.
And this is what we are all about…raising funds for research, raising awareness and one day-theend of Multiple Sclerosis. But our success resides with you. Please click on the link below to make your contribution today. We will be walking in Reston on Sunday, April 6th, and we welcome everyone to come out and join us.  It’s only a few short hours to show your support.
Go to www.teamstanton.org to follow the links to sign up to walk, make a donation and see all of the wonderful things that Team Stanton has been involved in over the years.Thank you again for all your continued support.
